The long way round

South Africa
to Namibia

A little wine country, a lot of open road, an unreasonable amount of food, and skies big enough to make everyone briefly quiet.

01 / South Africa

Franschhoek

Arrive, settle in, and begin the club’s Cape chapter at Val d’Or Estate.

02 / Namibia

Windhoek

The first Namibian night. Find the lodges, the light, and an Irish bar for Harry.

03 / Desert

Sesriem

Two nights at Dead Valley Lodge. Dunes, stars, and a strict no-losing-the-convoy policy.

04 / Atlantic

Swakopmund

Three nights between desert and ocean, with Walvis Bay on the horizon.

05 / Return

Cape Town

Three final nights for the full Monty crew. Metropolitan Lodge included.

A private dining club abroad

Good food.
Good stories.

The club leaves its usual table behind for braai smoke, biltong, bone marrow, crayfish, pickled fish and whatever the lodge serves next.

01 / Eat

Steak & marrow

Club principles travel well. Especially when there is a grill involved.

02 / Explore

Three 4×4s

Ray and Kegan lead the convoy across Africa. The rest of us navigate.

03 / Remember

Make it legendary

A trip worth turning into a brochure, a calendar, and several tall tales.
